In the 2020’s, we saw the expansion and upgrade of our electric yard goat fleet. The yard goat is the perfect application for electrification. Goats operate in a closed, dense circuit amplifying their environmental benefits. They have easy access to electricity with dedicated charging stations. There is no range anxiety or payload concerns as their duty-cycle and weight are ideal.
For those not familiar, a yard goat is a specialized piece of equipment to shuttle containers and trailers between drop lots and dock doors. It has a hydraulic fifth wheel to lift the container/trailer without having to raise or lower its landing legs and has easy-access stairs out the back.
