Tesla will be expanding its footprint in McCarran, NV, a manufacturing and distribution hub about 20 miles east of Reno.
The expansion will add four million square feet of space for the production of batteries for light-duty vehicles as well as the company’s first production line for electric trucks. Elon Musk’s goal is to produce an electric truck with a 500-mile range and capacity to pull 82,000 pounds.
