The Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) Administrative Law Judge issued a decision reaffirming her earlier ruling that dictating specific chassis usage for Merchant Haulage is a violation of the Shipping Act. Motor carriers have the right to choose the chassis of their choice for such moves.
The ocean carriers have petitioned the FMC for reconsideration, and the entire commission will review and issue their decision.
