Despite the fact California has potholes that can swallow up small children and pets, the state legislature is proposing a budget item that will divert the diesel excise fuel tax to subsidize a tax credit for green aviation fuel.
We cannot make this stuff up folks. California’s infrastructure is crumbling, but they want to siphon more money away from roads and bridges…for aviation no less.
According to the Berkeley Haas Energy Institute, within only a few years, there will be a 75% decline in associated revenue as a result of this diversion.
