Modern Worker Empowerment Act is a bill seeking to codify a clear and straightforward definition of Independent Contractor and provide certainty to truck drivers, gig workers and anyone choosing the independent lifestyle. Currently, the rules and definitions are subject to flip-flop with changes in administrations and at the US Department of Labor. Case in point, the current Biden-era rule is not being enforced while the Trump Administration reviews and changes.

During the inspection, drivers are prohibited from using any form of translation assistance, including apps or cue cards.
