The marine terminals in Oakland will be closed today in recognition of May Day (ie, International Workers’ Day).
The International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) repurpose their monthly stop-work meeting (normally held the second shift of the third Thursday of each month) to honor International Workers’ Day on the dayside of May 1st.
Any terminal closure during normal business hours will create disruption and congestion, so please be prepared for cargo not to flow as smoothly as expected.
