The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is a horrible sight to behold.  For those that do not know, it is a flotilla of garbage twice the size of Texas, weighing 80,000 metric tons, containing 1.8 trillion pieces of plastic and floating in the Pacific Ocean midway between Hawaii and California.
