There have been some notable accomplishments at Port of Oakland recently:

1) Congratulations to the Port of Oakland for receiving the American Association of Port Authorities’ (AAPA) Award for Overall Communications Excellence and the 2023 Environmental Award of Distinction.

2) Another high five to the Port of Oakland for being awarded the Green Marine certification. This certification is awarded to organizations “dedicated to advancing sustainable environmental practices throughout the marine industry.”

3) The Port of Oakland recently released the draft environment impact report (EIR) for the widening of the turning basin. This project is needed for the port’s long-term viability. It will allow larger ships, safer transit and improved usage of shoreside power.

4) Our fourth bit of news on the Port of Oakland is not so positive. The latest rankings came out, and Oakland has slipped to ninth busiest port in the nation.
