Hope is on the horizon for the Port of Oakland and its users. After months of being by-passed in favor of the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, services are slowly being restored to Oakland.

MSC is adding an Oakland as a first port of call to its Sentosa, Southeast Asia service.

ONE is reinstating Oakland on its PS5, China/Japan service.

CMA-CGM is set to restore its weekly Oakland first port of call on the Golden Gate Bridge, China/Taiwan service. Currently, it has been calling Oakland on a fortnightly basis.

Over the summer, Matson launched an Oakland first port of call service to and from China.

Also over the summer, Wan Hai implemented an Oakland – China/Taiwan service.

And…the City of Alameda removed from their docket a resolution in support of the Oakland A’s ballpark. We are chipping away at support for that harebrained idea.
