The above photo was taken in 1943 and celebrates a California shipyard’s 5th ship in five days. Our wartime shipbuilding prowess was a force to be reckoned with. That was a long time ago, but folks are looking to reclaim those glory days.

As a result of Trump’s push for US shipbuilding, mentioned in the article above, a California consortium is looking to bring the industry back to the state.

California Forever, a group of investors which has purchased 50,000 acres of farmland in Solano County with the goal of creating a new city, is now planning to dedicate 1,440 acres near Collinsville, CA to build a ship yard. Calling upon California’s shipbuilding history, the plan calls for waterfront capacity to launch 5-10 ships at a time.
