The above video was posted to social media outlets earlier week by China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It demonstrates their determination not to “kneel down” to US pressure for a trade agreement as well as try to gain support from their citizens and other nations.

The Trump Administration continues to negotiate trade deals with our partners, but China clearly did not take kindly to their tariffs remaining in place while those of other trading partners were put on hold for 90 days.

As it relates to the tariffs and the supply chain, the on-again, off-again tariffs are anything but rainbows and unicorns. It is like driving on a bumpy, curvy road in thick fog. You have no idea what lies ahead.

Tariffs continue to disrupt the flow of goods worldwide. First, there was pre-tariff, preemptive ordering, and imports increased. Then there were order cancelations for both imports and exports to/from China, and ships sailing light, skipping ports of call or being removed from service entirely.

When there is a resolution, batten the hatches because cargo volumes will spike.
